Free Information - The government releases a tremendous amount of data under the Freedom Of Information Act. This data is available at low/no-cost.
Web Indexing - We scan the web, much like Google and Yahoo do. Our software scans reliable web sites for health care organization and doctor name, addresses, specialties, etc.
Continuous Updates - We continually update our data. Daily in Fact. All data is cleansed using CASS/PAVE (fancy US Postal Service methods) to make sure the addresses are correct. We also run our entire database against the USPS National Change Of Address database weekly to make sure we know when organizations and doctors move.
Here at Pharmastats.com we take pride in finding new ways to define and classify the industry. Our Affiliation database is one such way we do this. Nowadays, prescriber level data is a key metric in determining sales force efficacy and defining where to focus limited marketing resources. However, another important aspect of the industry is often ignored in the marketing equation, medical groups.
Our affiliation database is a nationwide collection of physicians and the groups they belong to. The database includes addresses at both the group and physician level, and more sophisticated positioning options such as longitude and latitude. We use software certified by the USPS to ensure that all addresses are accurate and deliverable as well as sophisticated matching logic to ensure that records are accurate and unduplicated. All of this technology comes together to create a full-featured database that paints a definitive picture of the group landscape in the United States.
From large IPA organizations, to metropolitan hospitals, to small two or three doctor organizations, medical groups are a driving force in determining the behavior of their member providers. With recent legislation limiting prescriber-level options and diminishing time and resources to devote to marketing. we see group-level marketing as an attractive alternative to the prescriber-level model currently in place.
